Hy-Vee is investigating a potential data breach in some of their payment processing systems. Officials say they have also notified federal law enforcement and the payment card networks.
Hy-Vee officials say their investigation is focused on card transactions at Hy-Vee fuel pumps, drive-thru coffee shops, and restaurants.
Preliminary investigation indicates payment card transactions that were swiped or inserted on front-end checkout lanes, pharmacies, customer service counters, wine and spirits locations, floral department, clinics are not involved.
Hy-Vee officials say that they believe their actions have stopped the unauthorized activity on their payment processing systems.
Customers are being advised to closely monitor their payment card statements for any unauthorized activity.
