Lincoln Police Looking For Suspects Who Stole Truck, Attempted To Pull ATM Off Foundation

Lincoln police are looking for two men caught on camera attempting to pull an ATM off its foundation.

Officer Erin Spilker says officers were sent to the 4300 block of 70th street around 4:30 AM Wednesday after receiving a report from Wells Fargo that an ATM was sending an alarm.

Arriving officers found the damaged ATM, tire marks and a discarded chain.

“Officers were able to analyze the video from the ATM and observed two males in dark clothing with their faces’ covered had arrived in a white truck with Nebraska plates. They pried at the ATM and tried to pull it off of its base.”

Spilker says the thieves were ultimately unsuccessful as no money was taken.

Officers contacted the registered owner of the 2003 White Ford Super Duty truck used in the attempt, but he said he was unaware that it had been stolen from his residence in the area of 8300 block of South Street

The ATM but  suffered around $5,000 in damage.

The stolen truck is estimated at around $10,000.

An investigation is ongoing.
