COVID-19 Risk Dial Now In Orange Range For Lincoln Lancaster County

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health moved the COVID-19 Risk Dial into the Orange range for the first time since May.

Health Director Pat Lopez says the week of June 28th through July 4th, there were 170 new cases of COVID-19 in the region.  So far this week there are 167 new cases.

Health officials report 30 new cases on Friday.

Lopez says 70% of the cases are in individuals under the age of 40 with 57% training in age from 20 to 39.  There are 15 people hospitalized compared to nine a week ago Friday.  Six people are pending test results.  The positivity rate is at 7.5%.

This is a reminder for individuals to wash hands frequently, wear a mask, and to watch social distancing.
