Mask Mandate In Lincoln

Mask Mandate In Lincoln

Starting Monday, masks will be required at all indoor public places in Lincoln.  That from Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird.  The mandate will remain in effect through August 31st and it will then be reviewed.

There are some exceptions to the mandate.  Masks will not have to be worn while eating in restaurants or while drinking in bars.  They will not have to be worn during exercise or if someone suffers from a medical condition.  There are no other directive health measure changes being considered at this time.

The Risk Dial remains in the “Orange”, or high-risk range.  There were 50 more cases reported on Friday.  That brings the weekly total to 274 cases so far.  There were 228 cases reported last week.

The Lancaster County Health Department also announces another death due to COVID-19.  The victim is a woman in her 70’s who was hospitalized.  That brings the total number of deaths in the county to 14.
