The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department moved the COVID-19 Risk Dial down one notch. It remains in the Orange High Risk category but it appears cases are starting to level off.
Health Director Pat Lopez says 241 cases were reported so far this week. That averages out to about 46 new cases each day. There were 331 cases reported last week and 332 cases two weeks ago. The number of people reported recovered is now at 1,279. The death total remains at 15.
Officials report 29 new cases in the county Friday bringing the total count to 3,021. Nineteen people remain hospitalized. The positivity rate for Lancaster County remains at 6.8%. The Nebraska average is 9.5% and the national rate is 9.3%.
With the COVID-19 Risk Dial remaining in the “Orange,” or high risk range, residents are advised to follow these recommendations to protect themselves and others:
- Stay home if possible.
- Stay at least six feet away from others.
- Wear face coverings.
- Wash hands frequently.
- Those at risk of complications from COVID-19 should continue to minimize close contact with others.
