Investigators with the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force were looking for 33 year old Jason Smith around 9:30 Wednesday night near 60th and Glenbrook. Smith was known to be wanted for fleeing from several traffic stops with the most recent one on February 20th.
As Smith was walking out of a house investigators attempted to contact him but he went back inside.. Investigators were able to take him into custody and observed his vehicle, a black Chevy Impala, parked in the garage of the residence.
21-year-old Olivia Gordon was seated in the passenger seat. Investigators were able to see numerous small baggies, a scale, a bag of marijuana (15.9 grams) and syringes inside the vehicle. In the front driver door pocket, investigators observed a loaded .380 handgun in plain view. Inside Gordon’s purse, 0.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine was located that field tested positive. Gordon was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and an outstanding warrant for Assault.
Due to previous convictions, Smith is prohibited from possessing firearms. Smith was arrested for Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person, two counts of Flee to Avoid Arrest, and Driving During Suspension.
