No. 5 Huskers dominate Wolverines in Friday sweep

The No. 5 Nebraska volleyball team (14-2) didn’t need a set to get warmed up for the second match in as many days at Michigan (4-7).

The Huskers dominated from the start, and only got stronger as the match went on, sweeping the Wolverines 25-19, 15, 13. Nebraska hit .362 and held Michigan to a season low .074 hitting.

This was the 11th sweep of the season for Nebraska, with seven coming on the road.

The middle-blocking duo of Kayla Caffey and Lauren Stivrins put on a show, combining for 20 kills (10 each) on .741 withg with no errors. The two also tallied 11 blocks.

Nicklin Hames dished out 31 assists to do her part in Nebraska’s best hitting efficiency night of the season.

Next up for Nebraska is No. 11 Penn State in Lincoln Thursday and Friday.
