Meth And Weapon Found During Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on Friday, April 2nd around 10:30 p.m. ended with a man facing drug and weapons charges.  The Lincoln – Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force contacted the driver of a pickup near 1st and Cornhusker after seeing him make several traffic offenses.  The man refused to answer questions or get out of the vehicle.  He was seen looking around the pickup frantically and acted nervous.

Investigators removed 31 year old Brandon Parmentier from the vehicle and requested a police service dog.  PSD Diesel indicated narcotics inside the truck.  Investigators then did a search and found several items of drug paraphernalia, a scale, pipe and a holster with ammunition.  Investigators also searched Parmentier and found a 38 Special handgun inside the waistband of his pants, $744 in cash and two bags of suspected methamphetamine weighing 9.4 grams.  The substance then field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Parmentier was prohibited from possessing a weapon due to a previous conviction.  He was booked for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a firearm with a drug violation, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and possession of money while violating a drug law.
